Diese Collage wird Teil der Ausstellung BE MINE im Greenleaf Art Center in Chicago (IL) USA sein. 10.2. – 28.3.2024
BE MINE ist eine konzeptionelle Kunstausstellung, die in Chicago stattfindet. Die Veranstaltung findet nun bereits zum neunten Mal statt. Sie begann, als zwei Künstlerinnen (Judith Hladik-Voss und Pate Conaway) ihre Freunde aufforderten, konzeptionelle Kunstwerke zu schaffen, die auf dem Valentinstagsspruch „Be Mine“ basieren. Daraus hat sich eine Art Anti-Valentinstags-Show entwickelt. Dieses Jahr wurden/ werden Fluxus-/Mail-Künstler einzuladen, um die Ausstellung inhaltlich zu gestalten. Alle Postkunstwerke werden in einem Faksimile eines Briefkastens ausgestellt, zusammen mit Sitzgelegenheiten, an denen sich die Betrachter erfreuen können.

This collage will be part of the exhibition BE MINE at the Greenleaf Art Center in Chicago (IL) USA. 2/10/24-3/28/24
BE MINE is a conceptual art exhibition taking place in Chicago. The event is now in its ninth year. It began when two artists (Judith Hladik-Voss and Pate Conaway) challenged their friends to create conceptual artworks based on the Valentine’s Day slogan „Be Mine“. This has evolved into a kind of anti-Valentine’s Day show. This year, Fluxus/mail artists have been/will be invited to create content for the exhibition. All the postal artworks will be displayed in a facsimile of a letterbox, along with seating for viewers to enjoy.
Excavations ist ein Sammelmagazine, herausgegeben von Svenja Wahl aka Lottchen Echo.
Das 10. wurde auf besondere Einladung der „Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ornithologie“ herausgegeben – alles, was einen Vogel zeigt, war also willkommen.

Adam Roussopoulos ist ein unendlicher Quell guter Ideen und seine Projekte sind eine Bereicherung für die Mail Art Welt. Deswegen nehme ich gerne bei diesem Aufruf teil: Die ultimative Mail Art Playlist. Meine (zur Zeit) favorisierte Band ist „The Weepies“ und mein derzeitiger Lieblingssong von ihnen „Does Not Bear Repeating“ („Muss nicht wiederholt werden). Ich bin sehr auf das Magazin gespannt, das Adam mit allen Einsendungen erstellen will.
Adam Roussopoulos is an endless source of good ideas and his projects are an enrichment for the mail art world. That’s why I’m happy to take part in this call: The ultimate mail art playlist. My favorite band (at the moment) is „The Weepies“ and my current favorite song of theirs is „Does Not Bear Repeating“. I’m really looking forward to the magazine Adam wants to create with all the entries.

„Alles Banane“ – meine künstlerische Maxime für 2024
im Sinne von „Alles in Ordnung, es gibt keine Probleme, alles ist so, wie es sein soll“ oder auch „Das ist egal, unwichtig oder auch unsinnig“. (Quelle)
Dafür habe ich Bananenmotive von Bananenkartons ausgeschnitten und gesammelt – entsprechend „genutzt“ sehen sie aus, und das ist gewollt, ganz im Sinne des Fluxus.
Nun sende ich diese wunderbaren gold-gelben Symbolträger an einige meiner Mail Art Freunde – in der Hoffnung, dass sie von der Post tatsächlich transportiert und zugestellt werden.
Die Bananen-Adressaten sind: Stefan Heuer, Kevin G. Brandtner, Petra Lorenz und Volker Lenkeit, Frank Voigt, Reina Huges, Tictac Patrizia, Tohei Mano, Sally Wassink, Adam Roussopoulos, Michæel Orzechowski, Bibiana Padilla Maltos.

in the sense of „Everything is fine, there are no problems, everything is as it should be“ or „It doesn’t matter, it’s unimportant or even nonsensical“. (source)
I cut out banana motifs from banana boxes and collected them – they look appropriately „used“, and that is intentional, in the spirit of Fluxus.
Now I am sending these wonderful golden-yellow symbol carriers to some of my Mail Art friends – in the hope that they will actually be transported and delivered by the post office.

Vielen Dank an Lutz Anders für die Organisation der Mail Art Ausstellung „Hommage an Pablo Picasso“ und die wunderbare Dokumentation darüber, die ich neulich erhalten habe!
304 Künstler haben ebensoviele Arbeiten aus 43 Ländern und 4 Kontinenten geschickt. Die Ausstellung fand vom 29.9. – 11.10.2023 im Kunstraum Reuter, Berlin, statt.
Der Katalog in Form von drei beidseitig bedruckten DinA3 Bögen gefällt mir sehr gut – jeder Künstler wurde seinem Werk namentlich zugeordnet. Ein Extra: drei Künstler-Briefmarken mit meiner Einsendung! Super Idee!
Ganz sicher werde ich bei dem nächsten Mail Art Aufruf wieder dabei sein.

Many thanks to Lutz Anders for organizing the mail art exhibition „Homage to Pablo Picasso“ and the wonderful documentation I received the other day!
304 artists sent as many works from 43 countries and 4 continents. The exhibition took place from 29.9. – 11.10.2023 at Kunstraum Reuter, Berlin.
I really like the catalog in the form of three DinA3 sheets printed on both sides – each artist was assigned to their work by name. An extra: three artist stamps with my entry! What a great idea!
I will definitely be back for the next Mail Art call.
