This is my brand new DADA stamp I’ve cerated for upcoming projects.

An echo of the exhibition PAPA MAMA DADA in the Neue Sächsischste Galerie Chemnitz: Frank Voigt, Petra Lorenz and Volker Lenkeit set up an old, talking parrot automat. If you throw 1 Euro into it, you get a ball with an original work by Petra, Frank or Volker in it. Fortunately I had „coincidentally“ some 1 euro coins with me and have elicited wonderful things from the parrot!
Frank Voigt gave me some wonderful presents: two printed postcards from one of our cooperations, one of his original works AND two „art X Mail“ stamps, with which I can now also start art x mail collaboration letters. This felt like a kind of „inauguration“ to me. We’ll see where it ends 😉
Many thanks Frank for these wonderful gifts! There is (a little) something on the way to you.
So viel Arbeit!
Mai 2019.

The day before yesterday was the great opening of the group exhibition „PAPA MAMA DADA – art x mail – collaboration and Mail Art Projects“ at the New Saxon Gallery Chemnitz – Museum for Contemporary Art, curated by Frank Voigt, Petra Lorenz and Volker Lenkeit. I am very honoured that my collaborative project „The Unequal Twins“ was included – showcased in two vitrines and as a video loop, me, browsing through all the books.
The whole exhibition is STUNNING! There are so many wonderful collaborative works by so many artists from all over the world – elaborately framed and hung. So much work! During the opening a half hour Dada performance took place: Five musicians and an actress gave Dada sound poems and Dada music for the best – it was a true celebration – the reincarnation of Cabaret Voltaire. A further attraction was the talking parrot automat, into which one could throw a 1 euro piece and then, under parrot chatter a ball with an original artwork of Frank, Petra or Volker got. Since I knew about this apparatus, I brought along accordingly many coins – and there were no rivets!
The really long journey was 100% worth it. Not least because I finally got to know Frank, Petra and Volker personally after so many artistic collaborations!
The show is running from 5th March to 12th May 2019

DADA lebt – immer wieder erstaunlich, was in den 1920ger Jahren künstlerisch alles passiert ist! „Seepferdchen und Flugfische“ – Lautgedicht von Hugo Ball, Video/ Rezitation von Bob Marsh.
DADA is alive – again and again amazing what happened artistically in the 1920s! „Seahorses and flying fish“ – sound poem by Hugo Ball, video/ recitation by Bob Marsh.
For Petra Lorenz´s fan project I made a Dada Fan. In front are seen Hugo Ball, Emmy Hennings, Hans Arp and Tristan Tzara – on the back of the text „Where it all began – Cabaret Voltaire – Spiegelgasse 1 Zurich – Dada 1916 – The Great Art“. The background is a city map of Zurich which was published on the occasion of the 100th birthday of dada – it identifies all relevant places that played a role in the dada-period from 1916 – 1919. The red dot marks the location of Cabaret Voltaire.
I enjoyed that – because I was reminded of my trip to Zurich and Cabaret Voltaire I made one year ago.
Pirmasens, where 1886 Hugo Ball was born and grew up, dedicated to him a permanent exhibition, the „Hugo Ball Cabinet“ at Forum Alte Post which is very interesting! Too bad that it isn’t allowed to take photos. You can see a lot of text boards about his life and work, his connection to his wife Emmy Hennings (with whom he founded the Dadaism and the Cabaret Voltaire (which I visited once) in Zürich 1916), as well as an interactive carpet with which you can, by stepping on it, create your own sound poem.
Above you can see the invitation card from Rheinland Pfalz regarding the celebrations of „100 years of Dada“. I got the last one, lucky me!
