english version:
The first of two books of my collaboration project
The Unequal Twins – this time with Linda Sandoval– is finished.
Two identical books from the Island Library, saved from the waste paper container, serve as a basis and will be sent by me to the respective collaboration partner. Both design one of the two books as a starter, both finish the other, so that at the end two original books are created. Everyone gets his started book back.
This is the book I started for Linda – and she finished it.

This is my contribution for Gina Geo’s Art in a box on the theme of ISOLATION.
I have already participated twice in her assembling magazine – always an interesting compilation of artists who are not yet known to me. Therefore, I have fun to participate now for the third time. I am curious about the box and the other contributions.

For the first time I participated in Vittore Baroni’s t.a.z. – tiny art magazine . a collectible magazine in miniature format (4×7 cm) – that’s why a small reading magnifier is also included. It was fun!
Vittore also sent me a large amount of his own art – thank you very much!

Joseph Cornell

Video: The Bergman Collection of Joseph Cornell – by Christie`s

english version:
Joseph Cornell (1903 – 1972) was a US artist best known for his collages, assemblages, and boxes, which he began creating in 1931. „Assemblages in boxes, often with a glass wall, in which he combined poetic collections of photographs, star charts, spheres or Victorian toys according to his own symbolism. His meticulous knowledge of literature, theater, and dance identifies him as a late specimen of an extensively knowledgeable Kunstkammer impresario. The universe he created in devoted detail has encyclopedic features; each box holds a multitude of remarkable layers of meaning.“ (source)
Christie`s „The Bergman Collection of Joseph Cornell“ video above introduces some of his work. The collection of husband and wife Ed and Lindy Bergman included, along with works by other artists, 30 boxes by Joseph Cornell. In this article you can read how the couple became art collectors.
Joseph Cornell was self-taught. In this video (streamed from the Royal Academy of Arts), Sarah Lea, curator of the exhibition „Joseph Cornell: Wanderlust,“ describes his unorthodox career path.
