BERKELEY COMMONPLACE freut sich, in diesem Frühjahr (vom 3.-12. Mai) die erste Ausstellung des Postal Collage Project No. 13 im Berkeley Art Center (1275 Walnut Street, Berkeley, CA, USA) zu veranstalten.** Die Ausstellung zeigt mehr als 200 gemeinschaftliche Collagen, die zwischen September 2023 und Frühjahr 2024 von über 200 Teilnehmern aus sechzehn Ländern erstellt wurden.

3. Mai – Preview Party Fundraiser, 17-20 Uhr

4.-12. Mai – täglich geöffnet, 11-17 Uhr
Collagiermöglichkeiten die ganze Woche

4. Mai – Workshop zur Buchherstellung
Ganztägig, alle Altersgruppen, kostenlos

11. Mai – Welt-Collagen-Tag
Ganztägig, für alle Altersgruppen, kostenlos. Es werden neue Arbeiten mit Inhalten erstellt, die von Mitgliedern der weltweiten Collage-Gemeinschaft zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

Mein Beitrag zur Einladung von MIAP – Christophe Blaise zur Teilnahme an der Mail Art Ausstellung zum Thema „Die Welt des Zirkus“ im Rahmen des Saint-Martin-Bazaar in der Zeit vom 3. – 23. August in Saint-Martin-en-Vercors, Frankreich.
Es gibt ein umfangreiches Rahmenprogramm, das hier zu sehen ist – leider nur auf Französisch.

Von Christophe Blaise bekam ich den Katalog zu der Mail Art Ausstellung „Hommage an Tintin -von Thierry Grenier“ in der Villa Monoyer, Lyon, Frankreich, an der ich mit einer Tim und Struppi Collage teilgenommen habe.
Außerdem sendete Christophe mir die Einladung zur nächsten Ausstellung mit dem Thema „Zirkus“.

Das Magazin Haus A Rest – Issue 47 : In Celebration Of Women ist nun online.

Ich fühle mich sehr geehrt, dass die Jury von haus_a_rest meine Nymphe für ihre Magazinausgabe #47 mit dem Thema „Celebrating Women“ als Teil des Aufrufs ausgewählt hat. Vielen Dank an Jenna Fox und Nichola!

Nymphen in der Mythologie verkörpern oft die Verbindung zwischen Frauen und der Natur, symbolisieren Schönheit, Fruchtbarkeit und die mysteriösen Aspekte des weiblichen Seins. Ihre Rolle betont die Vielfalt weiblicher Attribute, von schützender Natur bis hin zur unabhängigen Freiheit, und spiegelt kulturelle Vorstellungen von Weiblichkeit wider. Als mythologische Figuren bieten Nymphen Raum für die Reflexion über die verschiedenen Rollen und Kräfte, die Frauen in der Gesellschaft und der Natur verkörpern können.

Meine analogen Nymphen-Collagen sind 2021 entstanden

I’m so honored that the judges at haus_a_rest chose my nymph for their magazine issue #47 with the theme „Celebrating Women“ as part of the call. Many thanks to Jenna Fox and Nichola!

Nymphs in mythology often embody the connection between women and nature, symbolizing beauty, fertility and the mysterious aspects of being female. Their role emphasizes the diversity of female attributes, from protective nature to independent freedom, and reflects cultural notions of femininity. As mythological figures, nymphs offer space for reflection on the different roles and powers that women can embody in society and nature.

Ich freue mich sehr, bei R_epertoire – X. International Spanish Flue Mail Art Biennale, Veres Attila – Hall of the Thalia House of the Herman Ottó Museum – Miskolc Gallery, HUN mit meiner Collage DADA THEATRE (A4) dabei zu sein. Besten Dank an Vas Tibor für die Einladung, daran teilzunehmen.
Die Ausstellung wird am Welt-Theater-Tag, 27.3.204, eröffnet und ist bis August 2024 zu sehen.
Einige mir bekannte Mail Art Kollegen sind auch dabei, wie z.B. Susanna Lakner, Lars Schumacher, Horst Tress, Ruggero Maggi, Serse Luigetti, Ryosuke Cohen, Keiichi Nakamura und Michelangelo Mayo (siehe unten)

Standard Processes in Dressmaking

„Standard Processes in Dressmaking“ ist ein kollaboratives Buchprojekt, zu dem Alison Kurke vor längerer Zeit eingeladen hat. Daran gearbeitet haben, neben Alison selbst, @dorotheemesander , @sabine.remy.collage, @whatapageturner , @carolreidwhite, @planet_susannia, @evelyncromwell, @motherofthedollgirl, @lisasheets_artspawn.
Die Aufgabe bestand darin, gestartete Seiten zu ergänzen, eigene Seiten zu starten oder vollständig selbst zu gestalten.
Alison ist es gelungen, Kasini House für eine Publikation zu gewinnen. Das Buch wird nächsten Monat dort erscheinen.
Ich freue mich außerordentlich, dabei zu sein und bedanke mich ganz herzlich bei Alison für die Idee, die Einladung und all ihren Enthusiasmus, den sie in dieses Projekt gesteckt hat – sowie bei Ric Kasini für die Veröffentlichung.

Das Buch wird im Rahmen der Ausstellung „Grafikpapier“ im Borders Textile Towerhause in Hawick, Schottland.
Eröffnung und Buchpräsenation am Samstag, 13. April 2024, 13 – 15 Uhr.
Wie schade, dass ich nicht vor Ort sein kann. Mehr Informationen über die Ausstellung sind hier zu finden.
Es ist so umfangreich dass ich hier nur die Seiten zeige, die ich alleine gestaltet habe – im Januar 2022. Ich bin sehr gespannt, wie sich das Buch entwickelt hat!

„Standard Processes in Dressmaking“ is a collaborative book project to which Alison Kurke invited us some time ago. Besides Alison herself, @dorotheemesander , @sabine.remy.collage, @whatapageturner , @carolreidwhite, @planet_susannia, @evelyncromwell, @motherofthedollgirl, @lisasheets_artspawn worked on it.
The task was to add to pages that had been started, start their own pages or design them completely themselves.
Alison managed to get Kasini House to publish the book. The book will be published there next month.
I am delighted to be involved and would like to thank Alison for the idea, the invitation and all the enthusiasm she has put into this project – and Ric Kasini for the publication. Details about the book can be found here. (unpaid advertising)

It’s so extensive that I’m only showing the pages here that I designed on my own – in January 2022. I’m very excited to see how the book has developed!
