Heute vor sechs Jahren habe ich mit meinem Blog begonnen – das ist eine kleine Notiz wert!
Hier ist mein erster Artikel.

What have I done in the years before?
Collaboration with Sally Wassink (1-6)
Very first collaboration with Sally Wassink from the USA – started by her, finished be my. Three originals went back to her and I kept three .

Collage Garden Moskau (2)
“The Collage Garden Moskau” – eine temporäre (nicht kommerzielle) Open Air Ausstellung – ist nun eröffnet. Auf Instagram habe ich einen Artikel von Olga gefunden mit einem Foto von meiner Collage im Garten. Wie schön!

Excavations Magazine
This is my fourth contribution to the assembling magazine Excavations running by Svenja Wahl: 20 artists create 22 original works and send them to Svenja. This results in a magazine including 20 original works of each participant with an edition of 20 copies. Each participant received one copy of the magazine.
This time I used old boards, vintage postcards and animal head stamps.
Das ist mein vierter Beitrag zum Assembling Magazine Excavations von Svenja Wahl: 20 Künstler kreieren 22 Originalarbeiten in DinA 5 und senden diese an Svenja. Daraus entstehen 22 Magazine mit jeweils 20 Originalarbeiten aller Teilnehmenden. Jeder der Teilnehmenden hat ein Exemplar des Magazins erhalten. Dieses Mal habe ich alte Buchdeckel, alte Postkarten und Tierkopf-Briefmarken genutzt.

Ruhrkunstmuseen* führen zur Zeit ein Ausstellungsprojekt anläßlich dem Ende der deutschen Steinkohleförderung durch: 17 Museen in 13 Städten zeigen Ausstellungen zum Thema „Kunst und Kohle“. Hier nun Teil zwei meines Museumstrips:
Im Zentrum für internationale Lichtkunst Unna gab es nicht nur die temporäre Ausstellung zum Thema Kunst und Kohle sondern auch die ständige Sammlung zu sehen. Fasziniert hat mich die „Breathing Cloud“ – nicht nur beim direkten Ansehen sondern auch beim späteren Betrachten des Fotos, bei dem ich eine große Überraschung erlebte: Im Museum habe ich die Wolke und den Raum im klaren Weiß gesehen – auf dem Foto erst habe ich erkannt, dass alles in ein sattes Pink getaucht war. Wie kann denn das nur sein?
Besonders schön war es, erneut Christian Boltanskys „Totentanz“ und Rebecca Horns „Lotusschatten“ wieder zu sehen – zwei Werke, die mich immer wieder packen!
Das Museum DKM in Duisburg hat ebenfalls eine sehr sehenswerte Ausstellung, von der man leider keine Fotos machen darf. Ein Besuch lohnt sich in jedem Fall – auch jenseits der derzeitigen Sonderausstellung. Zum Abschied konnte man sich ein Stück Kohle zur Erinnerung mitnehmen.
Im Museum unter Tage – MuT – der Kunstsammling der Ruhr-Universität Bochum ist eine sehr minimalistische Ausstellung zu sehen. Das Museum liegt in der Tat unter Tage und in einem schön angelegten Park mit einem sehr netten Cafe vis-a-vis. Es ist eine neue Entdeckung für mich – und wird nun in meinen Katalog der sehenswerte Museen aufgenommen.
Und bald schon geht es weiter….

Ruhrkunstmuseen* are currently running an exhibition project to mark the end of German coal mining: 17 museums in 13 cities present exhibitions on the subject of „Art and Coal“. Here is part two go my museum trip:
At the Center of international light art Unna there was not only a temporary exhibition of „Art and Coal“ but also the permanent collection. I was especially fascinated by the „Breathing Cloud“ – not only when I looked at it directly but also when I later looked at the photo, where I experienced a big surprise: In the museum I saw the cloud and the room in clear white – only in the photo I realized that everything was immersed in a rich pink. How could that be?
It was especially nice to see Christian Boltansky’s „Death Dance“ and Rebecca Horn’s „Lotus Shadow“ again – two works that grab me again and again!
The DKM Museum in Duisburg also has a very interesting exhibition, of which unfortunately no photos are allowed. A visit is worthwhile in any case – even beyond the current special exhibition. As a farewell you could take a piece of coal with you as a souvenir.
In the Museum Underground – MuT – of the Art Collection of the Ruhr-University Bochum a very minimalistic exhibition can be seen. The museum is indeed located underground and in a beautifully landscaped park with a very nice café opposite. It is a new discovery for me – and will now be included in my catalogue of museums worth seeing.

Collaboration with Lottchen Echo (7)
And this is the second of our two books we – Lottchen Echo (finished) and I (started) – made.
The Titel „VILAGATLASZ“ is Hungarian and means „world atlas“.

Und dies ist das zweite der beiden Bücher, die Lottchen Echo (fertig gestellt) und ich (angefangen) gemacht haben. Der Titel „VILAGATLASZ“ ist ungarisch un bedeutet Weltatlas.

Collaboration with Lottchen Echo (6)
A new collaboration after a long while with Lottchen Echo who had the idea to alter two vintage books – and so we did. This is the one Lottchen started and I finished – traditionally cut and paste collage, included paper, threads, hooked material and some transfer techniques. The second book (I started and Lottchen finished) is also finished and I will post it next days.

Nach langer Pause eine neue Zusammenarbeit mit Lottchen Echo . Sie hatte die Idee, zwei Vintageheftchen als Grundlage zu nehmen. Dieses hier hat Lottchen begonnen und ich fertig gestellt mit traditioneller Schneiden-und-Kleben-Collage-Technik mit Papier, kombiniert mit Fäden, gehäkeltem Material und verschiedenen Transfertechniken. Das zweite Buch, das ich angefangen und Lottchen beendet hat, ist auch fertig – ich werde es in den nächsten tagen posten.

Kunst und Kohle (1-3)
Ruhrkunstmuseen* führen zur Zeit ein Ausstellungsprojekt anläßlich dem Ende der deutschen Steinkohleförderung durch: 17 Museen in 13 Städten zeigen Ausstellungen zum Thema „Kunst und Kohle“. Da trifft es sich gut, dass ich gerade etwas zeit habe, durch das Ruhrgebiet zu fahren, und mir die ein oder anderen Ausstellung anzusehen.
Begonnen habe ich mit Emschertal-Museum Herne. Hier hat der ghanaische Künstler Ibrahim Mama große Teile des Schlosses Strünkede mit Jutesäcken aus seiner Heimat verhängt.
Als zweites habe ich mir die Ausstellung „Homage an Janus Kounellis“ im Museum Küppersmühle in Duisburg angeschaut, die mich ganz besonders beeindruckt hat. Von den Sonderausstellungen in diesem Museum bin ich noch nie enttäuscht worden.
Und letztlich bin ich ins Lehmbruck Museum Duisburg gegangen, um mir die Ausstellung „Reichtum: Schwarz ist Gold“ anzuschauen.
Und bald schon geht es weiter….

Ruhrkunstmuseen* are currently running an exhibition project to mark the end of German coal mining: 17 museums in 13 cities present exhibitions on the subject of „Art and Coal“. Lucky me that I have some time to drive through the Ruhr area and have a look at some of the exhibitions.
I started with Emschertal-Museum Herne. Here the Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mama has hung large parts of Strünkede Castle with jute bags from his homeland.
Secondly, I looked at the exhibition „Homage to Janus Kounellis“ at the Museum Küppersmühle in Duisburg, which particularly impressed me. I have never been disappointed by the special exhibitions in this museum.
And finally I went to the Lehmbruck Museum Duisburg to see the exhibition „Wealth: Black is Gold“.
And soon I will continue…..
