Das Flying Glue Book Project ist ein Mail Art Projekt, dass 2013 von Julien Ratouin-Lefèvre ins Leben gerufen wurde und 2016 von Carol White und Ted Tollefson als neue Administratoren übernommen wurde. Im Februar 2017 waren unter ihrer „Regie“ wieder sieben reisepassgroße, von Ted Tollefson handgestaltete Bücher unterwegs. Die weltweit teilnehmenden Künstler gestalteten jeweils eine Doppelseite mit einer Original-Collage und schickten das Buch dann zu dem nächsten weiter. Vier der sieben Bücher haben die Runde gemacht und sind, vollendet, and Ted zurück gekommen – drei sind leider verloren gegangen.
Bereits Anfang 2018 hat das KOLAJ Magazine, DAS Magazine für zeitgenössische Collage (unbezahlte Werbung), einen Artikel über das Projekt veröffentlicht. 20 Künstler wurden darin repräsentativ für das Projekt vorstellt (und erfreulicherweise war ich eine davon).
Ted Tollefson hat nun ein Buch herausgebracht, dass alle Beiträge aus den Büchern von 2016 bis 2017 beinhaltet – 7 Bücher – 73 Teilnehmer. Es ist ganz wunderbar anzuschauen. Es ist käuflich zu erwerben und ich kann es nur empfehlen (unbezahlte Werbung).
KOLAJ Magazine hat darüber erneut einen Artikel veröffentlicht, den ich mir erlaubt habe, hier „kopiert“ zu reposten. In dem Artikel wird das Projekt beschrieben und die Doppelseite gezeigt, die Axelle Kieffer gestaltet hat. Erfreulicherweise bin ich in diesem Artikel erneut namentlich genannt – darauf bin ich, in aller Bescheidenheit, ein bisschen stolz.
Meine gestaltete Doppelseite poste ich in meinem Artikel dann auch noch einmal.
Was für ein tolles Projekt – ich freue mich sehr darüber, dabei gewesen zu sein! Vielen Dank an Ted Tollefson und Carol White für all die Arbeit!

The Flying Glue Book Project is a mail art project launched by Julien Ratouin-Lefèvre in 2013 and taken over by Carol White and Ted Tollefson as new administrators in 2016. In February 2017, seven passport-sized books hand-made by Ted Tollefson were on the road again under her „direction“. The artists participating worldwide each designed a double page with one original collage and then sent the book on to the next. Four of the seven books made the rounds and, completed, and Ted came back – three have unfortunately been lost.
In early 2018, KOLAJ Magazine, THE magazine for contemporary collage (unpaid advertising), published an article about the project. It featured 20 artists representative of the project (and fortunately I was one of them).
Ted Tollefson has now published a book that includes all contributions from the books from 2016 to 2017 – 7 books – 73 participants. It is quite wonderful to look at. It is for sale and I can only recommend it (unpaid advertising).
KOLAJ Magazine has again published an article about it, which I took the liberty to „copy“ here. The article describes the project and shows the double page that Axelle Kieffer designed. Fortunately I’m mentioned by name again in this article – I’m, in all modesty, a bit proud of that.

Ich kann nicht glauben, dass ich von Volker Lenkeit ein so wunderbares Überraschungsgeschenk bekommen habe! Ein fantastisches Originalwerk von ihm mit sehr persönlichen Weihnachtsgrüßen auf der Rückseite und einem handgefertigten Künstlerstempel-Sammelbuch für meine USA-Reise. Womit habe ich es verdient, so ein schönes Weihanchtsgeschenk zu bekommen? Ich bin sehr gerührt und bedanke mich sehr herzlich!
Wow! Und was für eine tolle Mail habe ich von Petra Lorenz ich dann auch noch bekommen habe! Eine Einladung zu ihrem neuen Kooperationsprojekt (Rösselsprung Rätsel) und viele wunderbare Papiersachen aus China und eine Art X Mail Postkarte! Vielen lieben Dank, Petra – Du hast mir eine große Freude gemacht!

I can’t believe I got such a wonderful surprise present from Volker Lenkeit! A fantastic original work by Volker with very personal Christmas greetings on the back and a handmade artist’s stamp collection book for my USA trip. What have I done to deserve such beauties? I am very touched and say thank you very much!
Wow! What a great mail I got from Petra Lorenz! AN invitation to her new collaborative project (Rössl Raffle) and plenty of wonderful paper stuff from China and an Art X Mail postcard! Thank you SO MUCH, Petra! You made my day!

Hip hip hurra! Gewinnen ist schön!
Was für ein großes Glück ich bei der Verlosung von Frau Nahtlust hatte, als ich ein „Auftrags“-Nadelbriefchen mit Wunschmotiv von ihr gewonnen habe! Als ich es bekommen habe, habe ich mich schock-verliebt. Es ist SO SCHÖN und so wunderbar gelungen – das Herz, die Farben, Zahlen (Maßband?) und Text und die eingenähte Darstellung des Herzschlages! Ich bin begeistert! Begleitet wurde es von einer handgefertigten Sternenkarte – natürlich benäht und mit lieben persönlichen Grüßen versehen! Vielen Dank, Susanne, für die ganze Arbeit!

What a big luck I had with the raffle of Mrs. Nahtlust when I won a pincushion from her! When I got it I fell in love with it immediately. It is so beautiful – the heart, the colors, numbers and text and the sewn-in representation of the heartbeat! I am thrilled! It was accompanied by a handmade star card – naturally sewn and provided with dear personal greetings! Many thanks, Susanne, for all the work!

4. Round Catalog Art Exchange
Vor einiger Zeit habe ich mit dem Tauschen meines Kataloges begonnen. Hier zeige ich nun diesmal, was ich mit Carina Granlund, Dawn Nelson Wardrope, Laurence Gillot, Lynn Skordal, Jude Worters und Sally Wassinkgetauscht habe.
