I made this collage YESTERDAY for Illustration Friday – a weekly creative outlet/participatory art exhibit
Collage 2013 – 37 x 36,4 cm
Azulejos sind Mosaike, die aus meist quadratischen, bunt bemalten Keramikfliesen bestehen und häufig zu prachtvollen Bildern zusammengesetzt werden. Ich habe sie in Portugal entdeckt, obwohl sie ursprünglich aus dem persichen Raum kommen – eine Hinterlassenschaft der maurischen Besetzung im Mittelalter. In Lissabon prägen sie das Stadtbild. Mich haben besonders die orientalisch anmutenden Muster fasziniert. Und weil ich Fernweh habe (immer noch) und auch mal wieder Lust, ein Mosaik zu machen, habe ich in meinen Fotoalben gestöbert.

Übrigens: Meiner Mutter ist zwar nicht so ein Druckkochtopf, dafür aber schon mal ein damals in Mode gekommener Sahnesyphon um die Ohren geflogen – danach hatte sie ETWAS mehr Hausarbeit und ETWAS weniger Freizeit als üblich. So wird manchmal ein Segen auch zum Fluch!
