Berlin Collage Platform Magazine #1
Berlin Collage Platfrom hat mich im März eingeladen, an ihrem Aufruf an Collage Künstler zum Thema Identität teilzunehmen um die Chance zu haben, in ihrem 1. Online Magazin vorgestellt zu werden. Hierfür sollten zwei Kunstwerke und ein beschreibender Text über meinen Arbeitsstil eingereicht werden, die mich als Collage-Künstler definieren.
Nach Einsendeschluß wurden 24 KünstlerInnen für das Magazin ausgewählt – und ich freue mich sehr, dabei zu sein. Das Magazin erschien online im Mai. Ich habe es mir vollständig ausgedruckt – und es gefällt mir sehr. Ich fühle mich in guter Gesellschaft.

Berlin Collage Platfrom invited me in March to participate in their call for collage artists on the theme of identity for a chance to be featured in their 1st online magazine. For this, two artworks and a descriptive text about my working style that define me as a collage artist were to be submitted.
After submissions closed, 24 artists were selected to be featured in the magazine – and I am thrilled to be included. The magazine appeared online in May. I printed it out in its entirety – and I like it a lot. I feel like I’m in good company.

Ausstellung: Multikulturelles Centrum Templin – Foyer Gallerie
Es freut mich, an der Gruppenausstellung „Collage Assemblage“ im Multikulturellen Centrum Templin teilzunehmen – mit Werken von 38 Künstler von 1967 bis heute.
Eröffnung am 9. Juli, 20 Uhr mit einem Kurkonzert und anschließender Laudatio von Joachim Pohl, Kunstwissenschaftler Berlin. Besten Dank an den Kurator Gerald Narr!
Die Ausstellung läuft vom 9.7. – 30.8. 2021. Das Foyer ist geöffnet immer Donnerstags bis Samstags je 14-18 Uhr.
Von mir zu sehen sind vier anatomische Collagen, sechs kollaborative Künstlerbücher aus der Serie „Die ungleiche Zwillinge“ (wie unten benannt, folgt man dem jeweiligen link kann man sich sowohl die einzelnen Seiten des Buches als auch das Durchblättervideo anschauen), in Dauerschleife die Durchblättervideos der bisherigen Zwillingsbücher sowie zwei Schaufensterfolien mit meinen Nymphen-Collagen.
Ich fühle mich außerordentlich gut vertreten.

I am pleased to participate in the group exhibition „Collage Assemblage“ at the Multikulturellen Centrum Templin – with works by 38 artists from 1967 to the present.
Opening on July 9, 8 pm with a spa concert followed by a laudation by Joachim Pohl, art historian Berlin. Many thanks to the curator Gerald Narr!
The exhibition runs from 9.7. – 30.8. 2021. The foyer is always open Thursdays to Saturdays, 2-6 p.m. each day.
On display from me are four anatomical collages, six collaborative artist books from the series „The Unequal Twins“ (as named below, follow the respective link to view both the individual pages of the book and the flip-through video), in continuous loop the flip-through videos of the previous twin books, and two window slides with my nymph collages.
I feel exceptionally well represented.

Neues Material / New stuff
In der letzten Zeit habe ich ein wenig neues Material zusammen gesammelt, und auch geschenkt bekommen. Somit ist mein Archiv noch einmal um einige Schätze gewachsen.
In recent times I have collected a little new material together, and also received as a gift. Thus, my archive has once again grown by some treasures.
Hinter den Kulissen – das Archiv
Es ist immer mal wieder interessant, einen Blick hinter die Kulissen zu werfen und zu sehen, mit welchen Materialien Künstler arbeiten. Heute ein kleiner Einblick hinter meine Kulissen und in mein Materialarchiv:
– unzählige alte Fotos, die ich auch während meiner Artist Residency in Savannah GA, USA gesammelt habe, sowie Kabinettkarten aus der Zeit um die Jahrhundertwende
– die Fotos, Viktorianische Fotoalben, Bücher, Zeitschriften, übrig gebliebene Bildreste aus vorangegangenen Projekten …. mein gesamtes Papiermaterial hebe ich in meinen Regalen auf, thematisch sortiert
– immer wieder inspiriert mich die Sammlung der bereits ausgeschnittenen aber nicht verwendeten Bilder
– ein besonders kostbarer Schatz ist ein etwa 100 Jahre altes Buch mit originalen Werbe-Druckgraphiken
– wenig spektakulär anzuschauen aber wichtig ist meine Sammlung alter Bilderrahmen, die ich zum Rahmen meiner Collagen verwende – ein Fundus, den ich jahrelang auf Flohmärkten gesammelt habe, gut verpackt in Luftpolsterfolie
– einige meiner zur Zeit stark beanspruchten „Natur“-Bücher.

It’s always interesting to take a look behind the scenes and see what materials artists work with. Today a little insight behind my scenes and in my material archive:
– Countless old photos that I also collected during my artist residency in Savannah GA, USA, as well as cabinet cards from around the turn of the century.
– the photos, Victorian photo albums, books, magazines, leftover images from previous projects …. all my paper material I keep on my shelves, sorted thematically
– again and again I am inspired by the collection of already cut out but not used pictures
– a particularly precious treasure is an about 100 years old book with original advertising prints
– less spectacular looking but important is my collection of old picture frames, which I use to frame my collages – a treasure trove I collected for years at flea markets, well packed in bubble wrap
– some of my currently heavily used „nature“ books.

Exhibiton in Japan
Für die Echigo-Tsumari Internationale Mail Art Ausstellung in der Gallery Yuyama, Niigata Präfektur, Japan, die in der Zeit vom 24. Juli bis 31. Oktober stattfindet, habe ich eine Postkarte zum Thema „Frieden“ein beidseitig bearbeitetes Triptychon zum Thema „Ich lebe hier und jetzt“ in der Größe 3 x 25,8 x 19 cm gesendet. Ich freue mich sehr, mit diesen Arbeiten in der Ausstellung vertreten zu sein.

Finding Love and Transformation
in a Book of Collage
Für den aktuellen Aufruf der Kanyer Art Collection „Finding Love and Transformation in a Book of Collage“ habe ich ein Buch der Inselbücherei zu einem Leporello mit 41 original Collagen verarbeitet. Hierfür habe ich meinen Fundus an alten Fotos, meine Lesezeichensammlung, die ich von einem Antiquar geschenkt bekommen habe, und alte Dokumente verwendet.
Nach dem Portfolio sind die Rahmenbedingungen für den Aufruf in Deutsch und Englisch aufgeführt.

For the current call of the Kanyer Art Collection „Finding Love and Transformation in a Book of Collage“ I have processed a book of the Inselbücherei to a Leporello with 41 original collages. For this I used my fund of old photos, my bookmark collection, which I got as a gift from an antiquarian bookseller, and old documents.

SCHLUSSDATUM: 20. Juni 2021
MACHEN: Wählen Sie ein Buch, das Sie lieben oder das Ihr Leben in eine Collage verwandelt hat. Es kann von beliebiger Länge oder Größe sein. Machen Sie Collagen auf mindestens 40 Seiten (oder mehr) des Buches. Es steht Ihnen frei, auch ein leeres Skizzenbuch zu verwenden. Zeitschriften und oder Comics sind für diesen Aufruf nicht zugelassen.
WÄHLEN SIE EIN THEMA: Verwenden Sie eines dieser Themen – Heilung, Transformation oder Liebe. Oder Sie können alle Themen verwenden.
EINSCHICKEN: Um von der Jury berücksichtigt zu werden, posten Sie 10 Seiten auf Instagram aus Ihrem Buch unter dem Hashtag: #fingingloveandransformationwithcollage
TAG and FOLLOW: @kanyerartcollection.
PREISE: Die ausgewählten Top-Collagen erhalten einen Geldpreis in Höhe von 325,00 US-Dollar, der über PayPal ausgezahlt wird, sobald die Collection eine postalische Tracking-Nummer per E-Mail vom Künstler erhält.
BENACHRICHTIGUNG: Die ausgewählten Künstler werden per DM auf Instagram kontaktiert. Weitere Details werden per E-Mail verschickt. Sie werden bis Ende Juni 2020 informiert.
VERSAND: Wenn Sie ausgewählt werden, müssen Sie bereit sein, das Werk in einem gepolsterten, versicherten Karton an die Collection zu schicken. Die Sammlung übernimmt die Versandkosten.
VORAUSSETZUNGEN:
Die ausgewählten Teilnehmer müssen hochauflösende Bilder von jeder Seite ihres Buches mit einer Mindestgröße von 2 MB einreichen.
Diejenigen, die ausgewählt werden, nehmen am Archivierungsprozess der Sammlung teil, indem sie eine Künstlerbiografie, eine kurze Beschreibung des Werks, einen Lebenslauf, Fotos von Ihnen und Ihrem Arbeitsbereich sowie andere wichtige Elemente für die historische Aufbewahrung einsenden.
COPYRIGHT: Die Künstler behalten das Urheberrecht an ihren Werken.
ÖFFENTLICHE BEKANNTMACHUNG: Anfang Juli 2021, wenn nicht früher.
HINWEIS: Mit der Einreichung zu dieser Ausschreibung erteilen die Künstler der Sammlung die Erlaubnis, Bilder des Werks online und in gedruckter Form zum Zweck der Dokumentation der Sammlung und der Arbeit der Sammlung zu reproduzieren. Die Künstler erklären sich damit einverstanden, dass das Werk ausgeliehen und/oder ausgestellt werden kann.

Open Call by Kanyer Art Collection – all forms of collage are encouraged to submit
CLOSING DATE: June 20, 2021
MAKE: Select a book you love or one that has transformed your life to collage. It can be of any length or size. Make collages on at least 40 pages (or more) of the book. You are free to also use a blank sketchbook. Magazines and or comic books are not permitted for this call.
CHOOSE A THEME: Use any of these themes – healing, transformation or love. Or feel free to use all the themes.
POST: For jurying consideration, post 10 pages from your book to hashtag:
#fingingloveandtransformationwithcollage
TAG and FOLLOW: @kanyerartcollection. Some submissions will be featured during the call.
AWARDS: Top collage books selected will be awarded a cash prize of $325.00 for their book—USD paid via PayPal once the Collection receives a postal tracking number via email from the artist.
NOTIFICATION: The artists selected will be contacted by DM on Instagram. Further details will be sent via email. They will be informed by late June 2020.
SHIPPING: If selected, be prepared to ship the work to the Collection via padded, insured box. The Collection pays shipping cost.
REQUIREMENTS:
Those selected will be required to submit high res images of each page of your book at a minimum of 2 MB.
Those selected will take part in the Collection archiving process by sending an artist biography, a short narrative of the work, CV, photos of you and your workspace, and other key items for historical preservation.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Early July 2021, if not before.
