Das Kolaj Magazine #22 brachte einen Artikel über das Flying Glue Book Projekt mit einer Auswahl von Teilnehmern. Ich fühle mich sehr geehrt, dabei zu sein – bei dem Projekt und in dem Artikel – neben anderen wunderbaren Collagisten wie Aaron Beebe, Ted Tollefsen, Deborah Stevenson, Alice Arango, Alison Kurke, Carol White, Axelle Kieffer, Zach Collins, Zarka, Geronimo Finn, Holger Becker, Tony Melser, Flore Kunst, Kathrin Göpfert, Karyn Hubermann, Lucinda Abra, Alice Lam, Susanna Lakner, Aleksandra Perzynska.
Vielen Dank auch noch einmal an Carol White für all die Arbeit, die sie in das Projekt, in die Gruppe und in den Artikel gesteckt hat!

Die Stadt Pirmasens widmet Hugo Ball, der dort 1886 geboren wurde und aufwuchs, eine Dauerausstellung im Forum Alte Post, das Hugo Ball Kabinett, das sehr interessant ist, von dem man aber LEIDER (!) keine Fotos machen darf! Zu sehen sind viele Texttafeln über das Leben und Wirken von Hugo Ball, seine enge Verbindung zu seiner Ehefrau Emmy Hennings, mit der er 1916 in Zürich den Dadaismus und das Cabaret Voltaire gründete, und einen interaktiven Teppich, mit dem man durch Betreten sein eigenes Lautgedicht erstellen kann. Hier kann man genauer nachlesen, welche thematischen Schwerpunkte im Kabinett aufgegriffen wurden. Hugo Balls Biographie kann man hier nachlesen.
Oben ist die Einladungskarte zu sehen, die das Land Rheinland Pfalz für die Veranstaltungen anläßlich der „100 Jahre Dada“ herausgebracht hat. Mir wurde die zur Zeit letzte im Museum vorrätige Karte geschenkt! Glück muss man haben!
Pirmasens, where 1886 Hugo Ball was born and grew up, dedicated to him a permanent exhibition, the „Hugo Ball Cabinet“ at Forum Alte Post which is very interesting! Too bad that it isn’t allowed to take photos. You can see a lot of text boards about his life and work, his connection to his wife Emmy Hennings (with whom he founded the Dadaism and the Cabaret Voltaire (which I visited once) in Zürich 1916), as well as an interactive carpet with which you can, by stepping on it, create your own sound poem.
Above you can see the invitation card from Rheinland Pfalz regarding the celebrations of „100 years of Dada“. I got the last one, lucky me!
From Butzbach to Frankfurt where I visited the Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition „BOOM FOR REAL“ at Schirn Museum, which is running till 27. May 2018. The show is absolutely worth seeing and very inspiring!
Von Butzbach nach Frankfurt am Main, um mir dort die Ausstellung Jean-Michel Basquiat „BOOM FOR REAL“ in der Schirn anzuschauen, die noch bis zum 27. Mai 2018 läuft un absolut sehenswert und sehr inspirierend ist!
Butzbach ist wunderschön und die Menschen, denen ich dort begegnet bin, waren alle sehr freundlich, interessiert und aufgeschlossen. Neben dem wunderbaren Markplatz, den ich besucht habe, konnte ich – als ewige Collagistin – in der Nähe auch einen Bücherschrank entdecken und ein echtes Kleinod: Das Geschäft von Wilfred Luh. Ein kleines Eck-Ladenlokal, das auf Wunsch geöffnet wird (einfach an der Tür klopfen). Dahinter verbergen sich die Schätze des ehemaligen Sammlers, der nun nach und nach seine Sammlung auflöst. Mich zu beschränken auf 11 Magazine von 1928, sowie einige Postkarten und Kabinettkarten aus der Zeit rund um die Jahrhundertwende viel mir angesichts des überwältigenden Angebotes sehr schwer! Wenn ich nochmal nach Butzbach komme, werde ich Herrn Luhs Geschäft definitiv erneut aufsuchen. Wetzlarerstr. 8 in 35510 Butzbach
Butzbach is really beautiful and the people I met there were all very friendly, interested and open. Beside the wonderful market place I´ve visited I found – as a real collagist – nearby a public bookshelf (where you can give and take old books for free) AND a real gem: Mister Wilfred Luh´s shop! A small corner shop which is open upon request (just knock on the door). Here you can find real treasures of his collection which he is going to sell. It was hard for me to limit myself just to buy 11 magazines from 1928 and some postcards and cabinet cards from the-turn-of-the-century. If I come back to Butzbach I will definitely visit Mister Luh´s shop again! Wetzlarerstr. 8 in 35510 Butzbach
