Noch bis zum 11.1. im Museum Morsbroich Leverkusen zu sehen: „Jäger und Sammler in der zeitgenössischen Kunst“. Die Ausstellung geht u.a. der Frage nach, ob „Jagdtrieb und Sammelleidenschaft nicht immer noch Motoren menschlichen Handelns sind“. Die Ausstellung hat mir gut gefallen.

Until 11 January in the Museum Morsbroich Leverkusen : „Hunter and Collector in contemporary art“. The exhibition explores beside other questions if „hunting instinct and collecting passion is still driving force for human activity“. I liked the exhibition very much.

Kürzlich war ich in Paris und habe dort das Naturkundemuseum besichtigt. Die paläontologische Abteilung hat mich umgehauen! In meinen Augen ein absoluter Geheimtip für Parisreisende mit etwas mehr Zeit.

Lately I have been to Paris and have visited the National Museum of Natural History. The palaeontological collection is stunning! A personal tip in my eyes for those who have some more time during their Paris trip.

Ich habe mir die Ausstellung Inside the Speaker von Katharina Grosse im Museum Kunstpalast angesehen (noch bis zum 1.2.2015): auf etwa 800 qm errichtete sie mit Erde, Farbe und Stoff eine begehbare Installation. In einem weiteren Ausstellungsraum zeigt sie Gemälde auf bis zu 36qm großen Leinwänden. Beeindruckend! Katharina Grosse lebt in Berlin und lehrt an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Ein interessantes Video über ihre Arbeit und die Ausstellung ist hier zu sehen.

I visited the exhibition Inside the Speaker by Katharina Grosse in the Museum Kunstpalast  (till the 1st of February 2015): her walk-in installation out of soil, colour and panels covers an area of about 800 sqm. In the other exhibition space she shows paintings on canvases measuring up to 36 sqm. Impressive! Katharina Grosse lives in Berlin and teaches at the Academy of Art Düsseldorf. Here you can see a video about her work and the exhibition (only in German).

Die Langen Foundation  zeigte im Rahmen der Quadriennale die Ausstellung “Otto Piene – Light and Air“, die am 10.8.2014 mit dem „Sky Event“ beendet wurde:  Einige von Pienes Skulpturen wurden mit Helium und Luft gefüllt und stiegen in den Himmel.

The Langen Foundation was presenting  within the framework of the Quadriennale the exhibition “Otto Piene – Light and Air“. Finissage was on the 10th of August, presenting a „Sky Event“ where some of Piene´s sculptures were filled with helium and air and float into the sky.
