Die Kusttram ist eine Straßenbahn in Belgien, die mit ihren 69 Haltestellen auf 68 km alle Orte zwischen den Niederlanden (Knokke) und Frankreich (De Panne) entlang der Küste miteinander verbindet. Sie ist die längste Straßenbahnlinie der Welt. Zwischen Oostende und Middelkerke führt sie direkt entlang der Nordeseeküste, ansonsten fährt man an Dünen vorbei und durch Orte und Hafengebiet. Ich bin an einem Wochenende die gesamte Strecke abgefahren – und zwar 2x – hin und zurück, also 132 km Straßenbahn!

The Kusttram is a public tram which connects all cities and towns along the Belgian Coast between the Netherlands (Knokke) and France (De Panne). With a length of 68 km (42 miles) and 69 stops it is the longest tram line in the world. Between Oostende and Middelkerke the tram line leads directly along the North Sea coast, for the rest it leads along the dunes and through the towns and cities as well as through the harbor area. I made the whole trip within one weekend – twice – there and back, so 132 km (84 miles) by tram!
