Happy New Year 2018
I reorganized my desk, cleared the clutter, changed drawer cabinets and chair ASO and now it’s all fresh and clear for 2018 which is hopefully a peaceful, joyful, healthy and creative year for all of us.

Ich habe meinen Arbeitsplatz umorganisiert, Schubladenschränke und Stuhl ausgetauscht, ausgemistet usw – und nun ist alles sauber und frisch für 2018, was hoffentlich ein friedvolles, glückliches, gesundes und kreatives Jahr für alle von uns werden wird.

Bei meiner Suche im Netz nach einer guten Anleitung für die Herstellung von Bommeln – oder auch Pompoms genannt – habe ich dieses Video von Jenine Bressner gefunden und fand es ganz klasse! Manchmal ist es gut etwas anderes zu tun als zu Schnippeln und zu Kleben!
While searching in the net to find a good tutorial about making pom moms I found this video by Jenine Bressner and liked it a lot! Sometimes it´s just good to do something else thank snipping and glueing.

Vizma Bruns and I did some tatortcard – sized collaborations again. She send me 6 started to finish – I finished (see above), will keep three and send three back to her.
Vizma Bruns und ich haben erneut einige Collabs in Tarotkartengröße gemacht. Sie hat mir 6 Starter geschickt – ich habe sie fertiggestellt (sie oben), behalte 3, 3 schicke ich an Vizma zurück.
This time: I send her 6 starter, she finished them all and send me three back – (see above). Nice what she did!
Diesmal: Ich habe ihr 6 Starter geschickt, die sie alle fertiggestellt hat – 3 hat die behalten, 3 mir zurückgeschickt (siehe oben). Schön, was sie damit gemacht hat!

Art x mail is an international mail art project running by Petra Lorenz, Frank Voigt and Volker Lenkeit. This project is regulary open for professional artists over the world who are interested in exchanging ideas, in mutual inspiration and interested in artistic cooperation / collaboration.
More than 150 large-scale letters from over 40 artists exist yet.
A selection is already present as donation in the collection of the „Neue Sächsische Galerie“ in Chemnitz. and now from 28 artists 50 art x mail art works as a donation to the Museum für Kommunikation Frankfurt/Main.
Diorama – Ausstellung in der Schirn
Ich habe die Ausstellung „Diorama – Erfindung einer Illusion“ in der Schirn Frankfurt besucht. Was mich am meisten fasziniert hat waren die Bildmotive eines unbekannten Künstlers für das Polyrama Panoptikum Paris von etwa 1849. Postkarten große Lithographien, rückseitig bemalt, teils perforiert und in einem Leuchtkasten präsentiert, dessen Licht via Dimmer langsam an und aus ging. Während dessen veränderten sich die Motive von Tag- zu Nachtszenen (und zurück) , und es erschienen (und verschwanden) Feuerwerke oder Vulkanausbrüche… Ich habe solche Arbeiten zuvor noch nie gesehen und ich war sehr fasziniert – von der Technik, der Größe, den Wechseln der Motive! (Schwer zu fotografieren – aber ich hab´s versucht!)

I visited the exhibition „Diorama – Inventing Illusion“ at Schirn Frankfurt, which is running until 21. January 2018. What fascinated me the most were the postcard sized transparent images by an unknown artist for the Polyrama Panoptique Paris from round about 1849. Postcard sized lithographs, painted on the back, partly perforated. They were displayed in lightbox, which switched on and of via a dimmer – and while it became darker or brighter, the images changed slowly form day to night scenes (and back again). On some of them a firework or an volcano eruption appeared (and disappeared again) ….. I never saw something like this before and I was deeply impressed – by the technique, by the size, by the changes of the images! (Hard to take photos – but I tried!)
